Thank you for your interest in the GALLO Giving Program. Stanislaus Community Foundation is pleased to accept donation requests on behalf of GALLO. The 2025 Grant Cycle will open in October.
GALLO is committed to making a difference in the communities where their employees live and work and is proud to support a variety of non-profit organizations. Because of the number of deserving requests received each year, donations are primarily directed toward the community where the corporate headquarters is located – Modesto, CA. Donations are also available for organizations in Fresno, Livingston, Napa, and Sonoma in California, as well as in Chester County, South Carolina, and Canandaigua, New York.
GALLO offers corporate donations to nonprofits that support Family Well-Being, the Arts, and Overall Community Health.
In order to help as many organizations as possible, GALLO appreciates limiting your requests to one (1) donation per year. In an effort to manage their contributions in an equitable and efficient manner, all requests must be submitted via web form.
*Grant applications undergo a thorough evaluation process, which includes assessing the organization's reputation and its adherence to the eligibility criteria listed here. Applying does not ensure the receipt of funds. We do not provide funding to organizations that discriminate or restrict participation based on race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, status as a veteran, or disability.
GALLO is unable to support the following:
Organizations that are not registered charitable organizations with nonprofit tax status
Charitable trusts
Lobbying or advocacy groups
Private foundations or clubs
Individuals
Adult organized sports teams or leagues
Individual K-12 schools (please submit K-12 requests through your educational district-wide foundation)
Solicitation to advertise
*Generally, it is not GALLO’s practice to provide donations to private or public universities, or national disasters (some exceptions may apply).
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code or have a fiscal sponsor that has 501(c)(3) status and provides written authorization confirming its willingness to act as the fiscal sponsor.
Located in one of GALLO’s geographic focus areas (Modesto, Fresno, Livingston, Napa and Sonoma in California and in Chester County, South Carolina, and Canandaigua, New York).
Must align with GALLO’S giving priorities (Family Well-Being, the Arts, Overall Community Health).
You must not already have received funding from GALLO during this calendar year.
Submit an Application
Our donation application is simple. We ask for some contact information, a brief description of your organization and funding needs, confirmation of your tax-exempt status and the amount of money you are requesting.
For 2025, the GALLO fund will have one application cycle in October. The next cycle begins on October 1 and closes on October 31. Those awarded will receive funding by the end of the first quarter of the calendar year in 2026.
Please note applications are limited to requests of $10,000 or less. Requests for capital campaigns are considered separately from the grant cycles. Please see the sidebar for criteria related to capital campaigns.
Application Review
All donation applications will be reviewed by GALLO at the close of each application cycle. Stanislaus Community Foundation will notify your organization of the outcome of review via email after that time.
Given this donation is through a donor-advised fund, GALLO is unable to accept any tangible benefit for the gift. GALLO requests any tables, tickets or other tangible benefit of sponsorship be waived so the entire gift may be used to help those in most need.
Please contact us at gallogiving@stanislauscf.org if you have any questions.
Capital Campaigns
GALLO accepts applications for Capital Campaign support. Awards are typically reserved for organizations that have a historical relationship with the GALLO. Requests must align with GALLO’s giving priorities, and organizations must be based in Stanislaus County, Modesto, CA, where GALLO’s headquarters is located.
Requests must include the following:
· Prior fiscal year 990s
· Project budget, project plan and timeline
· Amount raised to date with major donors listed by name (please be at 75% of total amount needed for project by submission date to be considered for review)
· 3-year strategic plan that outlines plans for sustainability
· Externally conducted feasibility study
To inquire about this process, please email gallogiving@stanislauscf.org
