Jose Borroel
Jose Borroel is a Modesto native. He attended Modesto Junior College where he received his Associates of Arts in Psychology degree. Jose earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Stanislaus.
Jose has a passion for his community. He is the current president of a grassroots non-profit organization called Manos Unidas de South Modesto, an organization dedicated to strengthening community ties and holding cultural events. Manos Unidas also supports other local organizations by partnering in events. Manos Unida’s greatest accomplishments have been the revitalization of an abandoned park in the South Modesto community, becoming an example for surrounding community groups.
Jose is also part of Smarter Cooler Homes, a state funded program that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions in disadvantaged communities.
As a NextGen on Board Fellow, Jose is serving a two-year term on Tuolumne River Trust’s Board of Directors beginning July 2021.
