Julie Bernardo

Julie Bernardo is a Sterile Processing Technician at Doctors Medical Center, where she has worked for five and a half years. She was selected as the first employee in the hospital’s history to ever be awarded Employee of the Quarter twice for going the extra mile in patient care.

Julie has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley and has returned to school with aspirations of completing an accelerated nursing program to become a registered nurse. She is also the author of From Blind Side to Strong Side: Preventing the Cycle of Domestic Abuse, which highlights the stories of eight different women and their experience with abusive relationships, and also details how they escaped and overcame domestic abuse. She is currently enrolled in a Sterile Processing Distribution certification course and will become a Certified Sterile Processing Technician later this summer.

Julie is excited for the opportunity to be mentored and looking forward to honing her leadership skills which will best equip her with giving back to the Stanislaus community.

As a NextGen on Board Fellow, Julie is serving a two-year term on Haven Women’s Center’s Board of Directors beginning July 2021.
