Nancy Martinez
Nancy Martinez is a first-generation student and Mexican-born immigrant based out of Modesto, CA. She is currently completing her undergraduate degrees in History and Psychology at the University of California, Davis, and is expected to graduate in June 2021. Nancy hopes to continue her education and will be applying to law school during the upcoming application cycle in the fall. She hopes to advance her experience advocating for adult and juvenile criminal defense work during her gap year(s).
Nancy has held positions at the San Joaquin District Attorney’s office and the Yolo County Public Defender’s office where she continues to support various research initiatives on the criminal justice system. She holds leading roles in various student organizations dedicated to educating and advocating about the criminal justice system and supporting immigrant and undocumented students in higher education.
Nancy is committed to uplifting the Central Valley community through youth empowerment and is eager to be part of a new generation of leaders seeking to bring change to our diverse community in Stanislaus County.
As a NextGen on Board Fellow, Nancy is serving a two-year term on Stanislaus Partners in Education’s Board of Directors beginning July 2021.
